Wai July Challenge
Go alcohol-free for July
Wai July – we’re on!
Back your bros. Press pause on the waipiro.
Wai July is a nationwide challenge for tāne Māori to go alcohol-free for the month of July.
It’s a chance to press pause on waipiro, reclaim your hauora and back your bros.
Here’s a few things to lock in:
Let your mates and whānau know you’re doing Wai July
So they’re not offering drinks or putting pressure on you — post up on your socials or send a message to the group chat!
Have a few solid back-up plans
Could be going for a run, mahi around the house, whatever keeps your mind and hands busy.
Reflect on your Wai/Why
What’s your reason? That’s it. Keep it simple. Keep it steady.

What’s the Deal?
Wai July is a nationwide challenge for tāne Māori to go alcohol-free for the month of July.
It’s about pressing pause on waipiro

PS: Wāhine, you’re welcome too.
This kaupapa is centred on tāne Māori — who are most impacted by harmful drinking — but anyone can jump in. The more support, the stronger the movement. Let’s all back each other.
