Fay joined Hāpai Te Hauora in 2017 and has extensive experience working with DHBs,  within the Public Health service sector and Māori Health Providers. Her early health career was in the Neo Natal Unit at Palmerston North Hospital followed by Whānau and Tamariki Ora with Te Rūnanga o Raukawa.  

She has vast experience in providing, facilitating and training health professionals in smoking cessation for the Public Health Service and health promotion for the MidCentral Community Paediatric Service.  During this time, she supported two research projects, firstly monitoring the temperature of Māori babies before, during and after their vaccinations and secondly enquiring as to Why Māori Did Not Attend Outpatient Clinics at 6 Palmerston North Hospital clinics.

In 2011 Fay became the first Kaiārihi for the Regional Stop Smoking Service Te Ohu Auahi Mutunga, at Te Wakahuia Manawatū Hauora Trust, supporting the team with additional projects including WERO stop smoking challenge, STOPTOBER, Enjoy Nicotine and Te Ara Haa Ora.

She has trained as a practitioner for Te Korowai Aroha Aotearoa and Te Ara Whānau Ora - Te Tihi o Ruahine Whānau Ora Collective.

Fay enjoys spending time with her whānau particularly supporting their sporting endeavours.  She is a representative for Ngāti Pareraukawa on the Raukawa District Māori Council, a community representative for the Central Zone Netball Board and a member of New Zealand Breastfeeding Alliance and the Health Promotion Forum Boards.
