Dr. Margaret Clark (Ngāti Awa) is a registered dentist working part-time at Ora Toa and Novo Smiles in Wellington City, and works on the executive committee for Te Ao mārama. We had the privilege of speaking to Margaret about her experiences working as a Māori dentist in Aotearoa.

The reality of breastfeeding is, it is hard work. A lot of kids have tongue ties now and they can chew up the old nipples.
Whakanoa is the process of removing tapu. There are many rituals and processes to remove tapu, usually involving kai or water, and always involving kōrero. Each fortnight we whakanoa with kōrero from community leaders and Hauora Advocates. This week we celebrate World Smokefree Day and check-in with the women tasked with advocating for a Smokefree Aotearoa- Stephanie Erick.
