Ruthie is of Māori and Samoan descent, hails from the village of Fa’atoia and born and raised in West Auckland. Ruthie has a diverse background with over 10 years experience in Health Promotion, Youth Work, Exercise prescription, and Smokefree support for Māori and Pasifika hapū māmā. She has always had an innate desire to be of service to her Māori and Pasifika community and this has fuelled her mahi as she strives daily toward a Smokefree Aotearoa 2025. Ruthie loves people and is passionate about her culture, values and Christian faith. Ruthie’s late father worked at Waipareira for over 10 years in the Mental Health space and she desires to follow in his footsteps to advocate for positive change.
