Stats NZ is developing Indicators Aotearoa New Zealand to track New Zealand’s progress. The set of indicators will go beyond economic measures, such as gross domestic product, to include well-being and sustainable development.
Why the RTA is being reformed
Since the RTA came into force, homeownership rates have declined and the proportion of households living in rental homes has increased. More people, including families and older people, are renting for longer, or for life.

The Ministry of Justice is seeking feedback on a draft framework to establish a consistent and co-ordinated approach to effectively identifying, assessing and managing the risks of family violence. Identifying risk and intervening as early as possible are essential in preventing family violence and keeping victims safe.
The draft strategy sets out a vision and how it can be achieved through eight key outcome areas: education, employment, health and well-being, justice, accessibility, attitudes, choice and control, and leadership.
The Homelessness Inqury want to hear from those who experience homelessness and agencies working with them, as well as members of the public, about the best ways to support homeless Kiwis and reduce the reasons they lose their homes in the first place.
